Greeting citizens! Here with a quick update about the state of the show. I am happy to announce that the rest of season one’s writing is done. Earlier in February episode nine was released. That just leaves four more episodes in season one.
After much planning, creator, Jake Lopez has announced that season one will be 13 episodes. “The rest of season is written and ready to record.” Lopez said. “Season 2 is already being worked on. We have a lot on the way.” (https://www.instagram.com/p/B89kq26HuLz/) Episode ten is currently under construction. There are still more ‘Tapes of the Elders’ currently in production. Not to mention ‘Behind the Sector’ episodes are always popping up when you least expected it. So, don’t worry there won’t be too much of a heist after season one.
However, just because episode 10 is in the works doesn’t mean it will be done soon. A little behind scenes of how this works. First Jake writes the episodes, which he’s been working on for years. If you’ve been listing to BtS you’ll know he’s been working on this story since elementary school. Once the episodes are written we have to get the voices. That’s one our biggest hurtles scheduling.
As I stated in a previous a previous post, we are a super independent production. Meaning that this podcast is our second job. Everyone working on the podcast has their own crazy schedules that we have to work around. The recordings easy, its just getting everyone in one place is the problem. Once we have the voices recorded, we then have to get the music and sound effects in place.
Thankfully we have Stephanie Buchanan working on the music. She’s been working on the music since episode four. With Steph’s help the music aspect of the show is smooth sailing. Now the real challenge are the sound effects for the show. By far this is the most time-consuming part of production. Thankfully now that were around fifteen episodes in, including Tapes of the Elders, we have a catalog of sounds that we can use.
But, don’t worry were making progress! With each episode we learn how to get better and faster. Before you know it I’ll be letting you know that season 2 is around the corner.
