Such as; Wizard and The Bruiser (nerd culture), The Story Must Be Told (short fiction anthology), Page 7 (celebrity gossip), Last Podcast on The Left (horror), Abe Lincoln’s Top Hat (politics), and many more. As most of you know ‘The Last Podcast on The Left’ and ‘The Story Must Be Told’ are some of the inspirations for TCOIP.
LPOTL is a horror comedy podcast hosted by Marcus Parks, Ben Kissel, and Henry Zebrowski. Every week the guys explore horrors of the world both real and imaginary. Such horrors as true crimes, serial killers, pheromonal hauntings, conspiracy theories, cults, supernatural creatures, and extraterrestrial incentres. Nothing is too strange for these boys. Each episode gives an in-depth look at cases that will chill your bones and bursting laughing at the same time. This is the perfect show to put on while you’re working, I’m doing it right now.
TSMBT is whole different box of crazy. The show is readings of short stories, but framed as a weekly service of the church of the story. Reid Faylor, Andrew Short, and other gust act as both host and preachers deliver a multitude of stories every Tuesday. However, the really captivating thing about this podcast is the production that goes into the stories. They add a whole slue of sound effects that make you feel like you’re listening to a movie. Jake has said several times that he got the idea to add sound effects and background music to his podcast form this podcast.
