Greetings citizens! As I alluded to last time, I had an idea for something for this hiatus period. Now I’m proud to announce the pilot episode of my new spin off, Double Shot. I can hear you asking, ‘you mean like a drink? What are you talking about Matt?’ Well that’s what I here to talk about today.

So, a while back I posted a kind of interview with Jakob on this blog. I originally wanted to do a face to face interview, but little did I know that a few days before the interview the world would enter into the COVID war. We decided that if we couldn’t meet in person then we would do it digitally.
However, the first time we tried to record our interview it didn’t work. We tried several times but we would keep getting lag, freezing, and desyncing video. After six tries I decided to send my questions to Jake so he could record his answers. Once he sent them back, I recorded an intro and outro to for the interview. It was ok, but the way it is you lose out on our back-n-forth we had during our recordings. So, when my FDOM class scheduled a interview assignment I knew what I had to do.
This was it; this was my shot at redemption. First thing we did this time was do a practice run to make sure it worked this time. I was going to be able to take this blog in a whole new direction, but the assignment had a 2-5-minute time limit. Talk about a crowbar to the creative knee. With our first ‘interview’ being close to 25-minutes with just Jake, so I had to think of a way to shorten it. I decided to shorten the amount of questions to only two questions. Even doing this and trying to pace our self’s we still ran almost ten minutes long. So, I had to do a bit of editing.
But this proved to me that we just might have something good here. We could easily reach a 20-minute episode if we don’t worry about time and just let things flow. However, this dose leaves me wondering if I should make more episodes. It would be extremely easy for me too make more episodes and get different people from the cast to interview. Right now, I’m thinking of doing a pilot season of five episodes and seeing how that goes. Until then stay safe, wash your hands, and be good people.
This is Matt signing out!
