So, this has been the most unique semester in my life. Not only because of a global pandemic, but it was also the first time I published a public site. I have taken a web design class before but we never made those sites public.
The project was meant to teach us how to create and maintain a site. While I have some experience in designing a site, I was never continually adding to it. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. If I could improve the design in any way, I would try to make it fit more with the show. Try to give it that retro future almost blade runner look. Another part of this semester long project was to use social media to promote your work on social media.
Using social media to promote my work is new to me. In hindsight I should have done this a lot sooner. It is the best way to show the world, and future employers, what you have to offer. For the longest time I would focus on building one skill at a time. However, now a days you have to be a jack of all trades to get noticed or hired. It’s something that I have to continually work on. This project showed how social media could help get peoples attain.
Look at the data my twitter post about the blog were some of my highest viewed post. Likewise, the data shows that there were spikes in views to the blog days after posting links to twitter. My most active week was February 17th with 18 views that week. My most viewed post was my second post (red-bubble store now open) which currently has 6 view. Its kind of surprising that some of my newer post have significantly less views than my first two posts. Maybe if I were to post more frequently more of my posts will be viewed.
